Stillwater is seeking a Network Administrator - Mission IT Operator to support a critical 24x7 engineering operations team in Las Cruces, NM. This role provides essential support for detection, isolation, and resolution of mission-critical ground segment issues and serves as the first responder for site-wide technical anomalies. Candidates will work within a high-visibility, multi-location enterprise and directly support customer mission needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain optimal performance of technical baseline infrastructure to ensure continuous mission support.
- Monitor, recognize, evaluate, and troubleshoot system and network issues in real time.
- Maintain privileged user access across multiple high-priority systems.
- Interface daily with senior government officials, international partners, engineers, and system operators.
- Interpret system documentation and log anomalies using discrepancy tracking tools.
- Gather data during system failures and coordinate resolution as a single point of contact.
- Escalate issues to Tier 2 support when necessary and conduct call-ins as required.
- Collaborate with enterprise-wide engineering teams to resolve operational challenges.
- Configure, maintain, and support internal and external network systems.
- Develop, maintain, and secure all systems, network configurations, and applications.
- Troubleshoot network performance and contribute to disaster recovery planning.
- Recommend software/hardware upgrades and provide end-user technical support.
- Participate in routine software operations and maintenance tasks.
Work Schedule:
- 12-hour shifts , 7 days a week, with shift rotation every 3 months:
- Day Shift: 0600-1800
- Night Shift: 1800-0600
Basic Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph
- AA degree in technical discipline
- 4-12 years of relevant experience
- Broad understanding of high-priority systems in a multi-location environment
- Excellent communication skills for effective coordination across distributed teams
- Current DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II Certification (Security+ required)
- Willingness to work non-standard hours and rotating shifts
- ITIL Foundation certification preferred
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in system administration for UNIX, Linux, and Windows
- Familiarity with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware)
- Knowledge of Enterprise Management Systems such as HP OpenView and CA-based tools
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
