Job Title: Lead Technical Recruiter
Location: Columbia, MD / Remote Hybrid

Job Description:
As the Technical Staffing Manager at Shield Consulting Solutions, you will be the driving force behind our talent acquisition engine. We are looking for an energetic, high-hustle recruiting professional who excels at top-of-funnel sourcing and candidate engagement. You will focus heavily on finding, connecting with, and recruiting highly cleared technical professionals (Software Engineers, Systems Administrators, IT Support, etc.) for active and upcoming contracts.
Unlike some traditional recruiting roles, your primary focus will be on "the hunt" and the initial placement; once a candidate is hired and onboarded, our dedicated overhead team takes over employee management and retention. However, you will play a critical role in supporting internal mobility, specifically managing submissions for current Shield employees looking to transition to new contracts.
This role is ideal for a hungry, driven recruiter who wants to make a material impact on the growth of a scaling defense contractor. You will serve a crucial role in ensuring Shield achieves its headcount and revenue targets by bringing the best talent in the market to our doorstep.
Responsibilities:
A competitive compensation package will be offered, with a target base salary range of $120,000 - $150,000 (commensurate with experience). This is offered alongside our comprehensive benefits package, including full medical, dental, and vision coverage, and 401(k) match.

Responsibilities:
- Own the Sourcing Strategy: Build and execute a predictable, measurable, and repeatable top-of-funnel recruiting strategy to attract high-caliber, cleared technical talent in the Maryland area.
- Pipeline Generation: Create and maintain a consistent pipeline for critical and hard-to-fill IT and engineering positions leveraging job boards, niche platforms, networking, referrals, and direct outreach.
- Candidate Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for candidates during the recruiting lifecycle, crafting compelling outreach messaging and ensuring a seamless, engaging candidate experience.
- Internal Mobility & Submissions: Manage the internal staffing process for current Shield employees, identifying opportunities and submitting them for new contracts as requested to ensure continuous billability and employee satisfaction.
- Partner Cross-Functionally: Collaborate with leadership to understand staffing needs, hiring forecasts, and align recruiting efforts with business growth targets.
- Data & Tracking: Maintain accurate metrics, ATS/CRM hygiene, and applicant tracking activity to analyze funnel metrics and improve placement rates.
- 2 to 5 years of experience in highly technical, cleared recruiting, specifically within the IT services sector.
- Proven experience recruiting for subcontractors and/or prime contractors supporting the Maryland intelligence customer.
- High energy and a "hustle" mentality; you thrive in a fast-paced environment, possess a strong will-to-win, and are driven by measurable results and placements.
- Strong understanding of the cleared talent landscape and contract vehicles in the DMV area.
- Exceptional EQ, communication, and relationship-building skills to engage top-tier technical candidates.
- Familiarity with HRIS, applicant tracking systems (ATS), and modern sourcing tools.
- Rigorous organization, detail orientation, and accountability to meet submission deadlines.
