OVERVIEW
Full-time/Permanent Employee
Location: Dayton, OH
We are seeking a Modeling and Simulation Engineer/Scientist III to support U.S. Air Force programs in Dayton, Ohio. In this role, you will develop and integrate high‑fidelity models using the Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM) to evaluate air and space systems, electronic warfare (EW) capabilities, and mission‑level performance. Responsibilities include creating radio‑frequency (RF) sensor and antenna models, building algorithms and simulation components, and integrating these elements into engagement‑ and theater‑level AFSIM scenarios. You will work closely with Air Force stakeholders to support analysis, concept development, and acquisition decisions through physics‑based modeling, scenario development, and Monte Carlo simulation execution.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop RF sensor models, algorithms, and simulation software and conduct trade-space analysis for system verification
Develop complex antenna element and array models and integrate them into larger system simulations
Assess and verify antenna and system-level design characteristics and performance
Document software and hardware characteristics, simulation environment changes, test designs, and analysis results
Integrate models into engagement-level, theater-level, and hardware-in-the-loop simulation architectures
Integrate models and system interactions within AFSIM environments for mission-level assessments
Conduct in-depth studies and analyses, formulate parameters, and validate modeling and simulation results
Lead the design, specification, and development of new modeling tools and system enhancements
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineering staff
Exercise independent judgment in solving highly complex technical problems and provide expert recommendations
