EXPANSIA is seeking a Senior Systems Administrator to provide hands-on technical expertise and CIO-level IT leadership in support of DoD programs in Hollywood, MD. This full-time role requires a seasoned professional capable of shaping IT strategy while maintaining secure, compliant infrastructure in classified and regulated environments. The selected candidate will lead IT strategy, planning, budgeting input, and technology roadmap development while designing, implementing, and sustaining secure on-premises and hybrid environments supporting both classified and unclassified systems. Responsibilities include ensuring compliance with DoD, NIST, RMF, CMMC, and DFARS requirements; overseeing system hardening, patch management, vulnerability remediation, and incident response; and maintaining audit readiness within secure and air-gapped environments. This role serves as a senior escalation point for complex technical issues and mission-critical outages while establishing and enforcing IT policies, procedures, and best practices. The Senior Systems Administrator will manage vendor relationships, software licensing, and third-party providers, including oversight of a Managed Service Provider (MSP) to ensure performance, security, and contractual compliance align with organizational objectives and DoD standards. Close coordination with program management, security teams, and executive leadership is essential. Qualified candidates possess 15+ years of progressive IT experience, including senior systems administration and leadership within DoD or federal contracting environments. Strong expertise in Windows and Linux server administration, Active Directory, Group Policy, virtualization, and storage is required, along with deep knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks such as NIST 800-53, RMF, and CMMC.
