Available Shifts:

• 7:30 AM-3:00 PM, with a 30-minute unpaid break
• 8:30 AM-3:15 PM, with a 30-minute unpaid break

Position Overview

The Judge Group is seeking dedicated and reliable Special Education Paraprofessionals / Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) to support students with special needs in an educational setting in Manheim, PA.

These positions may work with elementary, middle, or high school-aged students receiving services within Autistic Support, Emotional Support, and specialized special education programs.

Paraprofessionals will provide direct academic, behavioral, social, and personal care support to students throughout the school day. Candidates should be comfortable working with students who have autism, emotional and behavioral needs, intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, and other health or developmental needs.
Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one and small-group instructional support under the direction of classroom teachers
• Assist students with academic activities, classroom participation, and individualized educational goals
• Provide behavioral support and implement positive behavior intervention strategies
• Support students with autism, emotional and behavioral needs, intellectual disabilities, learning disabilities, and other special needs
• Assist students with social interactions, communication, and classroom transitions
• Help students develop cognitive, fine motor, gross motor, self-help, and functional skills
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) and personal care needs
• Provide feeding assistance as needed
• Assist with toileting, diapering/changing, dressing, and personal hygiene
• Assist with positioning, mobility, braces, and other adaptive or orthopedic equipment when required
• Monitor student behavior, safety, and overall well-being
• Assist teachers with documenting student progress
• Collaborate with teachers, behavior specialists, case managers, and other educational professionals
• Attend required training related to student support, behavioral interventions, and educational programs
• Perform additional student support responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Previous experience working with children preferred
• Experience working with individuals with autism, special needs, developmental disabilities, behavioral health needs, or emotional support needs strongly preferred
• Previous experience as a Paraprofessional, PCA, Teacher Assistant, Instructional Assistant, Behavioral Health Technician (BHT), Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), ABA Therapist, Direct Support Professional (DSP), or Special Education Aide is a plus
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers and other educational professionals
• Patient, dependable, flexible, and comfortable working with students who may demonstrate challenging behaviors
• Must be comfortable providing hands-on personal care, including feeding, toileting, diapering/changing, hygiene assistance, mobility support, and behavioral intervention

Required Clearances & Documentation

Candidates must be able to complete applicable school-based onboarding requirements, which may include:

• FBI/DOE Fingerprint Clearance
• PA Criminal Background Clearance
• PA Child Abuse Clearance
• Act 24 Arrest/Conviction Form
• Mandated Reporter Training
• TB Test
• CPR/First Aid certification, if required
• High School Diploma/GED or higher education documentation

Important: This is a hands-on special education support position. Candidates must be comfortable working with students who may require significant behavioral, academic, mobility, and personal care assistance.
