Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM-3:00 PM
Hours: Approximately 7 hours paid per day, 30-minute unpaid lunch break
Setting: School-Based, 1:1 Student Support

Job Description

We are seeking a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to provide dedicated 1:1 behavioral and academic support to a student in a school-based setting. The RBT will work closely with classroom staff, special education professionals, and the student's case manager to help implement an effective educational and behavioral support plan.

The student is academically strong and communicative but may require redirection, reinforcement, and support with resilience when frustrated. The ideal candidate is patient, dependable, and comfortable providing consistent behavioral support throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 behavioral and academic support to an assigned student
• Redirect the student's attention to classroom tasks and directions
• Provide repetition and clarification of instructions as needed
• Reinforce positive behavior, classroom expectations, and appropriate social interactions
• Use praise and positive reinforcement to encourage on-task behavior
• Support and encourage appropriate peer interactions and guided play
• Provide language modeling to assist with communication, peer interactions, and problem-solving
• Assist the student with emotional regulation and redirection when frustrated
• Collect and document behavioral data as required
• Collaborate with teachers, case managers, and other school professionals
• Assist with additional student needs when required, which may include feeding, toileting, positioning, and monitoring health-related needs

Qualifications

• Active Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification required
• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Previous experience working with children or students preferred
• Experience in Autistic Support, Special Education, Behavioral Health, Mental Health, ABA, or a related setting preferred
• Ability to work consistently Monday through Friday during scheduled school hours
• Strong communication, patience, reliability, and behavioral redirection skills
• CPR/First Aid certification required prior to starting

Required Clearances & Documentation

Candidates must be able to provide or obtain the following:

• PA Child Abuse Clearance
• PA Criminal Background Clearance
• PA FBI Fingerprint Clearance
• Current TB test results
• High school diploma, college diploma, or transcripts verifying highest level of education
• CPR/First Aid certification

Applicable clearances and health documentation must meet current credentialing requirements.
Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate has experience providing 1:1 behavioral support to children, particularly students with autism or other special needs. Candidates should be comfortable using positive reinforcement, redirection, behavior-management strategies, data collection, and collaborative approaches to help students succeed academically, behaviorally, and socially.
