Personal Care Assistant (PCA) / Teacher Aide
Job Summary We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistants / Teacher Aides to support special needs students across elementary, middle, and high school grade levels in Manheim, PA. In this role, you will work alongside classroom teachers and behaviorists to provide academic, behavioral, and personal care support, helping students achieve their educational and personal development goals in a structured environment.
Location Manheim, PA (Fully On-Site)
Employment Type Full-Time, Contract
Work Schedule Monday - Friday (30-minute unpaid break)
Compensation $17.00 - $20.50 based on experience.

Work Schedule Monday - Friday (30-minute unpaid break)
- Shift 1: 7:30 AM - 3:00 PM
- Shift 2: 8:30 AM - 3:15 PM
Compensation $17.00 - $20.50 based on experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individual and small-group instructional support in cognitive, fine/gross motor, self-help, and functional skills as directed by the classroom teacher.
- Assist students with daily personal hygiene care, including handwashing, toileting, changing diapers, and clothing care.
- Implement positive behavior intervention support policies to manage and redirect challenging student behaviors.
- Assist with mobility, positioning, and handling orthopedic equipment or braces as needed.
- Support students during mealtimes, including feeding assistance.
- Maintain a safe and healthy classroom environment by monitoring potential hazards.
- Collaborate with teachers, case managers, and support staff to track student progress and implement individualized care plans.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Prior experience working with children or students with special needs (Autism, Emotional Support, Intellectual Disabilities, or Learning Disabilities) preferred.
- Current CPR & First Aid Certification.
- Must be able to pass state and federal background clearances within required timelines:
- PA State Police Criminal Record Check (Act 34)
- PA Child Abuse History Clearance (Act 151)
- FBI Fingerprint Background Check (Act 114)
- Arrest/Conviction Report Certification (Act 24)
- Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure Release (Act 168)
- Child Abuse Recognition & Reporting Training (completed within past 5 years)
- TB Test Result (completed within past 90 days)
- Reliable transportation to the work site.
