Position Overview
We are seeking a Mid-Level DevSecOps Engineer / Senior Systems Engineer to support a long-term Department of Defense intelligence program focused on the sustainment and enhancement of mission-critical application services and advanced exploitation capabilities.
The successful candidate will work at the intersection of DevSecOps, cloud infrastructure, automation, systems engineering, and cybersecurity, helping build and maintain secure, reliable, cloud-native environments supporting complex government applications.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer with hands-on experience across AWS, GitLab CI/CD, Docker, ECS, Kubernetes/OpenShift, Infrastructure as Code, and security automation.

Primary Responsibilities
Design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot secure CI/CD pipelines
Build and support automated deployment pipelines using GitLab CI/CD
Deploy and manage containerized applications using Docker and AWS ECS
Support container orchestration environments including Kubernetes and/or OpenShift
Develop and manage Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK, Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar technologies
Provision, configure, monitor, and troubleshoot secure AWS cloud infrastructure
Integrate AWS CDK, GitLab, Docker, and ECS into automated deployment workflows
Implement shift-left security practices throughout development and deployment pipelines
Integrate static and dynamic code analysis, vulnerability scanning, and other security tooling
Support system and environment hardening in accordance with government security requirements
Troubleshoot build, deployment, infrastructure, and system performance issues
Conduct vulnerability assessments and support compliance activities aligned with RMF, STIGs, NIST, and related security frameworks
Automate repetitive administrative, deployment, and infrastructure tasks using Python, Bash, PowerShell, or similar scripting languages
Collaborate with software development, systems engineering, cloud, and cybersecurity teams
Develop and maintain technical documentation, system configurations, deployment procedures, and operational processes
Identify opportunities to improve automation, reliability, security, and overall DevSecOps processes
Required Qualifications
Active TS/SCI clearance
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related discipline with 4–8 years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 2–6 years of relevant experience
Hands-on experience developing and supporting CI/CD pipelines
Experience with GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or similar tools
Experience with AWS cloud environments
Hands-on experience with AWS CDK
Experience deploying and managing infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code
Experience with Docker and containerized applications
Experience with AWS ECS
Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, or similar orchestration platforms
Proficiency with at least one scripting language such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell
Understanding of secure software development and DevSecOps practices
Experience with vulnerability management, security scanning, or related cybersecurity activities
Preferred Qualifications
Security+ or other relevant DoD 8140/IAT certification
Experience supporting DoD or Intelligence Community environments
Experience with RMF, DISA STIGs, NIST, or other federal cybersecurity frameworks
Experience implementing security controls within CI/CD pipelines
Experience with automated security and code-scanning tools
Experience with Terraform and/or CloudFormation
Experience supporting highly available or mission-critical cloud environments
Experience troubleshooting complex application deployment and infrastructure issues
Experience working with microservices and cloud-native architectures
