Job Description

DevSecOps / Systems Administrator

Clearance: Active Top Secret/SCI with CI Polygraph required

Salary Range: $210K-$228K

The Opportunity

We are hiring an experienced DevSecOps / Systems Administrator to help build, secure, automate, and operate mission-critical technology environments supporting national security objectives.

This is a hands-on role at the intersection of DevSecOps, systems administration, cybersecurity, cloud infrastructure, automation, and systems integration. You'll work across cloud, on-premises, hybrid, and air-gapped environments while ensuring security is integrated throughout the software development and operational lifecycle.

A key part of the role involves supporting the secure movement and processing of data-from front-end applications through back-end services and downstream systems-while maintaining the security, reliability, and compliance required in sensitive environments.

If you enjoy solving complex infrastructure and security challenges and working alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams, this role offers an opportunity to apply that expertise to systems where performance and security matter.

What You'll Do

DevSecOps & Security

You'll help integrate security throughout the software development lifecycle while improving the automation, security, and reliability of development and deployment processes.

You'll:
  • Design, implement, secure, and maintain CI/CD pipelines.
  • Integrate security controls, testing, and best practices throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Automate application security testing, vulnerability scanning, compliance checks, and deployment activities.
  • Incorporate security tools into development, build, testing, and release workflows.
  • Assess the security of new and existing applications, systems, and infrastructure.
  • Identify, prioritize, document, and support remediation of security vulnerabilities.
  • Implement applicable security frameworks, policies, standards, and industry best practices.
  • Monitor systems and infrastructure for vulnerabilities, security incidents, configuration issues, and emerging threats.
  • Develop technical solutions that satisfy system-security and data-protection requirements.
  • Establish and maintain DevSecOps procedures, technical standards, and security best practices.

Systems & Infrastructure Administration

You'll work hands-on with the infrastructure supporting development and operational systems.

You'll:
  • Build, configure, secure, administer, and maintain physical and virtual servers.
  • Support cloud-based, on-premises, hybrid, and air-gapped computing environments.
  • Administer operating systems, system configurations, user access, permissions, patching, backups, and system availability.
  • Implement and maintain encryption for data at rest and in transit.
  • Monitor network, server, application, and infrastructure health, performance, reliability, and security.
  • Troubleshoot complex system, network, application, integration, and deployment issues.
  • Develop infrastructure-as-code solutions that create secure, consistent, and repeatable environments.
  • Support system hardening, configuration management, change management, and lifecycle maintenance.
  • Assist with the integration and administration of Cross Domain Solutions and other controlled data-transfer technologies, as applicable.

Dataflow & Systems Integration

You'll help ensure information moves securely and reliably across interconnected systems and security boundaries.

You'll:
  • Design, implement, and support dataflow architectures that securely move information from front-end systems through back-end services and downstream processing environments.
  • Analyze system interfaces, data dependencies, processing requirements, and security boundaries.
  • Support secure data exchanges across applications, networks, cloud environments, and external systems.
  • Partner with software, hardware, and systems engineering teams to integrate components and resolve technical dependencies.
  • Ensure data-handling solutions meet applicable security, encryption, access-control, and operational requirements.

Compliance & Authorization

You'll support the security authorization and compliance activities required to operate systems in highly controlled environments.

You'll:
  • Support Authorization to Operate (ATO) activities and associated security documentation.
  • Assist with security-control implementation, assessments, evidence collection, remediation tracking, and audit preparation.
  • Develop and maintain system policies, procedures, diagrams, configuration records, and other technical documentation.
  • Work with cybersecurity, engineering, customer, and program stakeholders to address compliance requirements and authorization findings.
  • Help ensure system configurations and operational practices remain aligned with applicable security frameworks and organizational policies.

Collaboration & Operational Support

This is a multidisciplinary role requiring close collaboration across engineering, cybersecurity, customers, and operations.

You'll:
  • Partner with software engineers, hardware engineers, systems engineers, cybersecurity personnel, customers, and operational support teams.
  • Provide technical guidance throughout system design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and operational implementation.
  • Promote shared responsibility for security across development, engineering, and operations teams.
  • Clearly communicate technical risks, vulnerabilities, system requirements, and recommended solutions to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Support production deployments, system upgrades, incident response, troubleshooting, and operational transition activities.
  • Evaluate new technologies and recommend improvements to security, automation, scalability, reliability, and system performance.

What You'll Bring

Required Qualifications
