Position Overview
We are seeking a qualified Speech Language Pathologist (SLP).
In this role, you will provide comprehensive speech and language services, including conducting student evaluations, developing Individualized Education Plans (IEPs), delivering direct therapy, and consulting with teachers, parents, and administrative staff. All services are provided under the guidelines of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), PA Chapter 14, and Act 212.
Key Responsibilities
- Assessments & Referrals: Accept referrals for children suspected of or exhibiting communication disorders, and manage their entry into the screening and evaluation process.
- Evaluations: Conduct individual, multidisciplinary, or transdisciplinary screenings and evaluations to identify communication disorders.
- Reporting: Generate comprehensive Evaluation Reports (ER) independently or collaboratively with educational teams.
- IEP Development: Develop, review, and revise Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for eligible children in coordination with parents, teachers, and school personnel.
- Therapy Delivery: Provide targeted speech interventions across multiple settings (individual, group, classroom, or community-based) tailored to student needs.
- Consultation & Collaboration: Partner with parents and school staff on communication disorder management, highlighting the connection between language development and literacy.
- Training & Curriculum: Assist in designing, organizing, and implementing training programs and curriculum components centered on student communication and literacy.
- Special Projects: Participate in communication and literacy grant projects as needed.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology required; Master's Degree is highly preferred.
- Certification: Must have completed Clinical Fellowship (CF) year; ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) is required.
- Experience: Proven experience working with and evaluating students with special needs or developmental delays, as well as designing/implementing educational programs.
- Transportation: Reliable transportation is required (the location is ideal for car commuters but accessible via public transit).
