In this highly visible role, you will split your time between the nation's premier command centers—the Pentagon and the Mark Center in Alexandria, VA. You will serve as the critical strategic bridge between the Department of War (DoW) and top-tier national universities, driving cutting-edge cyber initiatives like the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (NCAE-C), VICEROY, and the University Consortium for Cybersecurity (UC2).

What You Will Do (Your Impact)
As the primary operational and communications powerhouse for the Chief Academic Engagement Officer’s (CAEO) external portfolio, you will directly support a GS-15 Coordinator to expand vital defense partnerships:
• Drive Global Cyber Initiatives: Act as the primary operational liaison for massive academic frameworks, ensuring university research and training align with cutting-edge DoW strategic goals.
• Interface with Senior Leaders: Direct high-level scheduling and engagement with university presidents, academic deans, interagency partners, and top military brass.
• Lead Strategic Communications: Draft high-impact messaging, review external correspondence, and serve as the editor-in-chief for the prestigious CAEO newsletter.
• Control the Digital Narrative: Maintain and update the external-facing CAEO website, ensuring public cyber program initiatives are accurate and engaging.
• Brief Executive Leadership: Build critical briefing decks for Senior Executive Service (SES) and General/Flag Officer review while managing critical partnership agreements.
What You Bring to the Team
We are looking for a polished, highly organized professional who commands a room and effortlessly navigates both military protocol and academic cultures.
Basic Requirements:
• Security Clearance: Must have an active DoD TS/SCI security clearance (US Citizenship required).
• Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of experience (or 9 years of total related experience in lieu of a degree).
• Domain Expertise: A deep understanding of how military cyber requirements intersect with higher education ecosystems, federal grant models, and Senior Military Colleges.
Required Skills:
• Elite Communication: Exceptional writing and editing skills to draft professional newsletters, manage web content, and tailor messaging for diverse audiences.
• High Emotional Intelligence: Superb professionalism required to build robust networks and interface daily with senior academic officials and defense leadership.
• Masterful Coordination: Expert-level calendar management, event coordination, and administrative prioritization using MS Office Suite in a fast-paced environment.
