Elementary PCA (Paraprofessional) - Bench Role (Full‑Time)
Placement Locations
Assignments may occur across multiple elementary buildings within the district's service area. Grade level: Elementary (K-5)
Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM (subject to change)
Position Summary
The PCA/Paraprofessional supports special education services in alignment with district policies and federal/state guidelines. This role provides direct assistance to students with special needs, supports the implementation of IEPs, collaborates with teachers and specialists, assists with behavior intervention plans, documents student progress, and participates in problem‑solving and support teams.
Timesheets: Completed through Google sign‑in/out.

Minimum Qualifications
- Associate's degree preferred
- High school diploma or official transcript required (photo accepted)
- GED is not accepted
- ParaPro test is not recognized as a credential
- Experience working with children (educational setting preferred)
- Knowledge of special education practices or willingness to learn
- Proficiency with multimedia and computer‑based learning tools
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families

- Personalize support based on student needs
- Monitor student growth and follow district assessment expectations
- Manage student behavior in various settings

- Communicate clearly and professionally in all formats
- Perform additional duties as assigned to maintain a safe, effective learning environment

- Act 114 - FBI Fingerprinting
- Act 151 - PA Child Abuse Clearance
- Act 34 - PA Criminal History Report
- Act 24 - Arrest/Conviction Report
- Act 126 - Mandated Reporter Training
- Current TB Test (within required timeframe)
