Behavior Technician (Registered Behavior Technician)
Location: Silverdale, PA 18944
Reports To: BCBA / Supervisor
Position Summary
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) provides direct one‑on‑one behavioral interventions to support communication, social, and daily living skills while reducing challenging behaviors across home, school, and community settings. Interventions are based on the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) and implemented under the supervision of a BCBA.

Position Summary

Key Responsibilities
- Build Therapeutic Rapport - Pair with the client as a reinforcing, trusted presence to increase the value of social interaction.
- Teach Replacement Behaviors - Prompt safe, socially appropriate behaviors that support communication, social interaction, and problem‑solving.
- Fade Prompts Effectively - Reduce prompts systematically to promote independence and successful responding.
- Reinforce Appropriate Behavior - Increase desired behaviors by providing access to reinforcers such as preferred items, attention, or reduced demands.
- Collect Accurate Behavior Data - Record A‑B‑C data, frequency, duration, latency, IRT, event, and interval‑based measures.
- Follow Treatment Plans - Implement goals and interventions with sound judgment and seek supervision when needed.
- Collaborate With Families & Teams - Work effectively with caregivers and team members to maintain a supportive environment.
- Provide Parent Education - Share foundational information on reinforcement and early intervention.
- Maintain Professional Boundaries - Educate others on the BT role and operate within BACB guidelines.
- Participate in Reassessment - Assist with reassessment procedures as appropriate.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of two years of coursework in psychology, education, social work, behavioral science, human development, or a related field.
- Current Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification issued by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
