Can work in State College PA or Dulles VA on-site only.
What You Will Do
o Identify and understand customer needs and apply sound, demonstrable understanding of database principles, theories, and concepts related to software engineering to translate those needs to viable design solutions.
o Demonstrate critical thinking skills with the ability to communicate concepts and ideas well.
o Use proven problem solving and analytical skills.
Qualifications You Must Have
o Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of Database Administration experience.
o Experience with Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) solutions including Oracle Exadata and Oracle Intelligent Advisor (OIA).
o Experience working with Systems and Software Engineers to implement, and modify backend databases.
o Experience using Linux command line to perform database administration activities
o Experience troubleshooting database issues such as DR, replication & backups and other related issues
o Experience troubleshooting performance issues
o Experience with database security controls and audit & compliance requirements.
o Experience with automating routine tasks.
o Current Security+ certification or ability to obtain Security+ certification within 90 days of start
o Active and transferable Top Secret/SCI CI poly U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date.
Qualifications We Prefer o Experience virtualizing or containerizing databases. o Existing Security+ Certification o Experience with AWS o Experience with NoSQL database products such as MongoDB and DynamoDB o Experience with Spatial databases o Coding experience (SQL, Python, Java) is helpful!
