Software Engineer II (Full Stack Data Visualization Engineering)
Job Type: Full-Time
Location: Columbia, Maryland, (up to 2 days per week of telework as project tasking allows)
Clearance Requirement: Active TS/SCI with polygraph
Position Overview
The Software Engineer will support a fast-paced development environment focused on delivering tools that transform complex data into actionable intelligence. This role centers on building, enhancing, and maintaining content presentation tools that enable users to effectively view and interact with data. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design new capabilities, improve existing systems, and advance data parsing and visualization features that support analysis and decision-making.

Position Overview

The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to design new capabilities, improve existing systems, and advance data parsing and visualization features that support analysis and decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain software features for data presentation and visualization tools
- Enhance existing systems to improve usability, performance, and functionality
- Develop capabilities to parse, process, and display complex datasets
- Collaborate with team members to deliver scalable and user-focused solutions
- Troubleshoot defects and resolve software issues across the application stack
- Support the development of interactive user interfaces for data exploration
- Contribute to continuous improvement of system performance and reliability
- Assist in converting complex data into meaningful insights for end users
Minimum Qualifications
- Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline
- Substitution: Four (4) years of additional Software Engineering experience on similar projects may be substituted for a bachelor's degree
- Fourteen (14) years of Software Engineering experience on programs/contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity
Required Technical Skills
- Strong development experience with Java
- Experience with JavaScript and TypeScript
- Proficiency in front-end technologies, including HTML and CSS
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with React and Material UI
- Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with Rancher for container management
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, including GitLab pipelines
