Job Description
The Electronics Technician Maintenance I applies basic technical knowledge to perform simple or routine tasks following detailed instructions, performs such tasks as replacing components, wiring circuits, repairing simple electronic equipment; and taking test readings using common instruments such as digital multi-meters, signal generators, semiconductor testers, curve tracers, and oscilloscopes.

Responsibilities
- Works under close supervision receiving technical guidance from supervisor or higher-level technician.
- Works is checked frequently for accuracy.
- Performs installation, overhaul, maintenance and repair tasks on various electronic devices including assemblies and subassemblies used in integrated electronic system(s).
- Inspects, disassembles, repairs and reassembles electronic equipment such as amplifiers, chassis slides; circuit boards, switches, radar transmitter/receivers and other items and equipment of similar complexity.
- Replaces defective components such as resistors, transformers, capacitors semi-conductors, diodes, broken wires and various functional components.
- Visually inspects repaired items for appearance, etc., and performs operational tests and adjustments prior to release of equipment.
- Utilizes various types of common test equipment, e.g., voltmeters, oscilloscopes, multimeters, continuity testers, and tube testers.
- Performs certified soldering in accordance with current military specifications.
- Works from wiring diagrams, blueprints, and sketches.
- May assist higher grade mechanics engaged in calibration and alignment of equipment.
- Work requires a knowledge of basic electronic theory and familiarity of operating electronic elements such as alternating and direct current, signal behavior, etc.
- Requires skill in reading, interpreting, and using blueprints, schematics, trade tools and regular or special electronic test equipment such as multimeters, fluke meter, oscilloscope, etc.
- Requires the ability to independently perform assignments on routine work which is uncomplicated in design and for which procedures and technical information is available.
- Additionally requires the ability to learn the repair and test procedures on more complex equipment.
- This position will obtain a Forklift license upon request.
- Work may be performed outdoors in various conditions.
Qualifications
- Must have a minimum of 1-3 years of proven experience in the electrical/electronics field.
- Must have general experience as an electronics technician
- Must have the ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening
- Ability to receive Secret clearance.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
