Now Hiring: 3rd Class Marine Electrician – Interior Communications (approximately 50% Travel) – Suffolk, VA Akima Systems Engineering (ASE) is seeking a skilled 3rd Class Marine Electrician to support shipboard electrical and interior communication systems on U.S. Navy and maritime vessels. What You’ll Do: • Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical and communication systems onboard ships • Work with fiber optics, cabling, and multi-pin connectors • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical documents • Support fleet modernization and shipyard operations Travel & Schedule: • 50% travel (CONUS & OCONUS) • Monday–Saturday, up to 10-hour shifts (as needed) • OT, per diem, hotel, and transportation provided Requirements: • Active DoD Secret Clearance (or interim) • 2–3+ years of marine electrical experience • Experience with Navy/Coast Guard/MSC vessels • Familiarity with IC systems (MC, HYDRA, IVN, etc.) • Ability to work in shipyard and industrial environments Preferred: • NAVSEA certifications (Fiber Optic, Multipin Connector) • OSHA Maritime Certification • Trade school or technical training If you're ready to take your marine electrical career to the next level, this is an excellent opportunity to join a mission-focused team supporting critical government operations.
