Akima Systems Engineering (ASE), an Akima company, is seeking an experienced Rigger (WG 5210-10) to support the Naval Support Activity Panama City (NSWC PC) Rigging Shop. This hands-on role supports mission-critical Navy operations both on base and at sea. ________________________________________ What You’ll Do • Safely move materials using weight-handling equipment in support of NSWC PC operations • Fabricate slings, bridles, covers, harnesses, and towing eyes per blueprints • Perform full fabrication tasks: material prep, cutting, fitting, assembly, and inspections • Support mooring, inert mine field operations, underwater cable work, and NAVAIR testing • Conduct load testing/certification of WHE and lifting hardware • Assemble rigging, set up hoisting equipment, and direct crane operations • Splice wire/rope and repair slings and tackle • Assist with office equipment moves as needed • Overtime required; 30–40% CONUS/OCONUS travel ________________________________________ Qualifications • High School Diploma • 5+ years rigging experience • U.S. Citizen; able to obtain/maintain Secret clearance • Able to lift 75 lbs and work aboard vessels • Able to travel up to 40% (passport preferred) ________________________________________ Preferred Skills • Ability to obtain Navy CAT III Crane and Forklift certifications • WG 5210-10 journeyman-level experience • CDL preferred ________________________________________ If this sounds like your next career move, please contact me at sonia.rathod@akima.com or message me directly for more information.
