Mental Health Worker (Family Based Services)
Division: Children's Behavioral Health

Position Summary
The Family Based Services (FBS) Mental Health Worker collaborates with a dedicated clinical team to implement treatment plan goals identified by the family. This role is essential in helping families navigate community resources, develop self-advocacy skills, and access systemic supports. Responsibilities include providing direct client/family support and counseling, coordinating interagency meetings (such as CASSP), and performing school-based consultations to ensure a holistic approach to child and adolescent mental health.

Position Summary

Responsibilities include providing direct client/family support and counseling, coordinating interagency meetings (such as CASSP), and performing school-based consultations to ensure a holistic approach to child and adolescent mental health.
Essential Position Responsibilities
- Goal Implementation: Execute clinical strategies and treatment plan goals developed in partnership with the family and clinical team.
- Service Coordination: Schedule and facilitate interagency meetings, psychological evaluations, and psychiatric assessments.
- Advocacy & Outreach: Advocate for client needs within the community and assist families in accessing medical, social, and educational resources.
- Systems Integration: Maintain continuous communication and integration of services among all providers and support systems involved with the child.
- Skill Building: Lead skill-building activities as outlined in the treatment plan to empower caretakers and youth.
- Compliance: Maintain timely, accurate, and thorough clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory standards.
- Education: Bachelor's Degree including at least 12 credit hours in psychology, counseling, family therapy, sociology, social work, nursing, education, rehabilitation counseling, or theology.
- Experience: Minimum of one year of professional experience in a child or adolescent mental health setting.
- Core Competencies: * Demonstrated respect and sensitivity for children, adolescents, and complex family dynamics.
- Strong understanding of cultural competence.
- Genuine empathy and alignment with a mission-driven care model.
Must provide current verification of the following:
- Medical: Physical exam within the past 12 months (indicating freedom from contagious disease) and a valid Tuberculosis (TB) test.
- Clearances: * Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance
- PA Criminal Record Check
- FBI Fingerprint Clearance
- Training: Successful completion of Act 31 Mandated Reporter training.
- Travel: Regular travel is required to family homes, school settings, community sites, and agency offices.
- Physical: Regularly required to sit, talk, and hear. Occasionally required to stand, walk, and lift/move up to 10 pounds.
- Vision: Requires close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to focus.
