Our client is seeking a Skilled Draftsman to support our Air Force Distributed Common Ground System (AF DCGS) program. The Air Force Distributed Common Ground System (AF DCGS) is an intelligence enterprise system, comprised of 27 active duty, Air National Guard (ANG), and mission partner sites, interconnected by a robust communications infrastructure spanning the globe. The network centric, global enterprise provides 24/7/365 world-wide, Near-Real-Time (NRT) simultaneous Multi-Intelligence (Multi-Int) capabilities and products to Combatant Commanders (CCMDs).
A Skilled Draftsman will have the competency to apply writing skills and substantial knowledge of the basic principles and specialized vocabulary of the subject matter to accurately communicate the technological developments to interested stakeholders. They will apply writing skills and an understanding of the appropriate equipment and systems to the development of specifications showing the characteristics and capabilities or the design and test requirements of equipment and systems. This includes the development of training, operating, specifications or maintenance manuals associated with equipment and systems. Additionally, they will report on findings and programmatic decisions, articulate program policies, and explain technical aspects of the program in such a way as to make it clear without sacrificing thoroughness and accuracy. A Skilled Draftsman may make final reviews of proposed publications for style, design, layout, and editorial aspects before release.
The proposed salary range for this position is $73,800-$85,900. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications. KEY QUALIFICATIONS
Clearance: TS/SCI
Education and Years of Experience: Bachelor's degree in STEM or other relevant discipline and at least 3 years of experience (7+ years preferred)
Substitutions: Associate's degree and 4 additional years of experience in leiu of a Bachelor's degree or 6 years of additional work experience in leiu of no degree

RESPONSIBILITES
- Create detailed technical drawings and schematics for IT-based systems in accordance with military standards (DODi and Air Force AFI's).
- Ensure all drawings comply with Air Force specifications and standards.
- Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure accuracy of drawings.
- Utilize MS Visio software to produce precise and high-quality technical drawings.
- Review and update existing drawings as necessary to reflect changes in system design or requirements.
- Maintain an organized and up-to-date repository of all technical drawings.
- Provide training and guidance to junior draftsmen on military standards and best practices.
- Participate in design reviews and meetings, documenting discussions and decisions related to technical drawings.
- Ensure all drawings are properly stored and archived in compliance with records management procedures.
- Lead process improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, quality, and consistency in technical documentation workflows
- Provide technical support to operational strategies aligned within your program and initiatives that optimize processes, enhance productivity, and ensure quality across all program functions

- Ensure 100% of planned hours are worked and recorded
- Identify and forward to leadership any opportunities that could lead to growth within your work area

- Complete personal PDP and attend Staff Meeting and Storytime (with camera on)
- Execute all contract requirements as assigned in accordance with the contract-specific LCAT and requirements

- In-depth knowledge of military standards for technical drawings (DODi and Air Force AFI's).
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in producing technical drawings.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Willingness to travel if required.
PREFERRED ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with IT-based systems and networks.
- Familiarity with Air Force DCGS or similar intelligence systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
- Experience in MS Office software, including MS Excel, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint.
