Position Overview

Join us in our fast-paced support to the Space Development Agency (SDA). Recognized as the Department of Defense's constructive disruptor for space acquisition, SDA delivers space-based capabilities to the joint warfighter to support terrestrial missions through development, fielding, and operation of the Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture. SDA capitalizes on a unique business model that values speed and lowers costs by harnessing commercial development to achieve a proliferated architecture and enhance resilience. We are seeking a Software Integration Subject Matter Expert to support SDA's mission. Responsibilities include:

Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise in the satellite flight software design for multiple vendors
  • Evaluate and participate in flight software tests at the unit, module, subsystem, and platform level
  • Support the SDA's Tranche 1 Program Management and Systems Engineering team
  • Evaluate vendor flight software performance and assess its compatibility with new mission and CONOPS
  • Participate in anomaly resolution activities and assess existing flight software solutions
  • Provide technical advice/input to customer's System Program Director that lays the strategic foundation for critical, national capability and customer's future initiatives
  • Resolve highly complex and multi-dimensional problems requiring consideration of variables that impact multiple aspects of the project/program
  • Work with manufacturing engineers to support installation onto the hardware-in-the-loop test environment and eventual flight hardware
  • Contribute to the development of systems- and mission-level modeling and simulation tools
  • Develop software models of payloads for ground testing
  • Support development of software model of satellite platform, particularly ensuring accurate representation of the flight software
  • Assess the software impacts of new hardware, CONOPS and missions
  • Support requirements management and analysis, interface management, architecture development and test and evaluation processes
  • Incorporate Joint Warfighter, Mission Partners and internal SDA team's feedback and input on product strategy and identify the best path to improve efficiencies
  • Collect and analyze feedback from end-users, stakeholders and other teams to shape processes
  • Support application product managers and coordinate cross-functional teams (i.e. Government, Military, SETA, FFRDC, UARC, & Industry)


Required Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience building back-end services and APIs and front-end web applications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or relevant technical discipline
  • 15+ years experience
  • Understanding of satellite acquisition and operations technology best practices
  • Strong written and oral communications
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
