We're hiring a caring and committed Paraprofessional/Student Support Specialist to support students in their daily learning and growth.
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:30 AM-4:00 PM
Role Overview:
This position provides 1:1 behavioral and academic support to students and assists in implementing individualized educational programs designed by the student's case manager. The role includes supporting students with disabilities in both instructional and daily living activities, including feeding, toileting, positioning, and monitoring health-related needs. Candidates must be comfortable working with students who exhibit challenging behaviors.

Qualifications
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience working with children, students, or individuals requiring caregiving
Preferred:
Experience in Special Education, Autism Support, Behavioral Health, or Mental Health
Certification:
First Aid/CPR (must be obtained prior to start date)

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver instructional support as directed by the teacher in areas such as cognitive development, motor skills, feeding, self‑help skills, and behavior regulation.
- Maintain a safe and supportive environment, recognizing potential hazards and responding appropriately to students' physical and behavioral needs.
- Assist students with personal care tasks, including handwashing, toileting, diapering, and changing clothing.
- Support behavior management strategies aligned with established guidelines.
- Assist specialists with physical development activities and mobility needs.
- Prepare students for participation in general education settings following established procedures.
- Attend required trainings and in‑service sessions related to medical procedures and instructional programs.
- Support students who use braces, orthopedic devices, or require lifting, positioning, or repositioning.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and implement positive behavior support plans.
- Collaborate with case managers, general education teachers, and other school staff.
- Facilitate positive peer interactions and model appropriate social behaviors.
- Perform additional related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Experience working with children, students, or individuals requiring caregiving

Certification:

- Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance
- Pennsylvania Criminal Background Check
- Pennsylvania FBI Fingerprinting
- TB Test Results
- Diploma or transcripts verifying highest level of education
