Overview
We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to serve as a Key Personnel (KP) lead supporting advanced communications systems programs at Hanscom AFB. This is a high-impact role supporting Air Force acquisition efforts across the full system lifecycle, from early concept development through fielding and sustainment.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned systems engineering professional who understands how to manage technical baselines, guide system integration, and ensure subsystem and system performance meets program specifications. This position requires someone who can operate at both the strategic and technical levels, working across multiple interconnected programs with shared software and hardware interfaces.

Responsibilities
Apply advanced systems engineering principles to support DoD acquisition programs
Conduct program and technical reviews to evaluate system design, integration, and performance
Manage and sustain technical baselines across multiple interrelated programs
Develop and review technical documentation defining system and subsystem characteristics
Support system validation efforts, including development of evaluation criteria and procedures
Perform trade studies, cost-versus-capability analyses, and multi-objective decision analysis
Provide engineering support across development, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment
Contribute to risk management activities in alignment with Air Force SEAM processes
Deliver technical presentations and management briefings to leadership and stakeholders
Required Qualifications
Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility (TS/SCI)
U.S. Citizenship
Master’s degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
10+ years of systems engineering experience
Experience supporting DoD acquisition programs
Strong understanding of system architecture, application software, operating systems, networks, and storage platforms
Experience across the full System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Experience integrating new capabilities into existing communications infrastructures
Ability to manage parallel development efforts across multiple program schedules
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Desired Qualifications
Experience with communications systems programs
Knowledge of Nuclear Command and Control (NC3), particularly Sentinel
Experience with Modular Open Systems Architecture (MOSA) and Weapon System Integration (WSI)
Experience with iterative development methodologies
Proficiency in process modeling and workflow development
