Key Responsibilities:
- Behavioral Assessment: Conduct assessments to identify individual student needs and challenges.
- Develop Behavior Plans: Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and special education professionals to design tailored Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
- Implement Interventions: Apply evidence-based strategies and interventions consistently to encourage positive behavior.
- Data Collection: Track and document student progress, analyzing data to measure intervention effectiveness.
- Crisis Management: Respond to and de-escalate crisis situations safely and effectively.
- Communication: Maintain clear, ongoing communication with teachers, parents, and stakeholders regarding student progress and concerns.
- Professional Development: Stay current on best practices in behavior management through continuous learning.
- Team Collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary team to support student success.
- Promote Inclusion: Encourage diversity, acceptance, and respect within the school community.
- Required:
- Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification
- Experience working with students with behavioral challenges or special needs
- Knowledge of behavior management techniques and evidence-based interventions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Preferred:
- Crisis intervention and de-escalation training (e.g., CPI, Safe Crisis Management)
- Personal Attributes:
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to student well-being
- PA Child Abuse Clearance (within 1 year)
- FBI Fingerprint Clearance for Pennsylvania (within 1 year)
- PA State Police Background Report (within 1 year)
- TB Test (within 3 months)
- CPR and First Aid Certification
- Act 126 Reporter Training Certificate
