Our client is currently seeking a Personal Care Assistant around the Lima, PA area!
Position: Personal Care Assistant
Location: Media, PA 19063
Schedule: 7:15 a.m. - 2:15 p.m. (30‑minute unpaid lunch)
Student Age Range: High school; some students may be up to age 21
Interview Process: One in‑person interview with program staff, including a facility tour
Required Experience: Minimum 2 years as a PCA, paraprofessional, or paraeducator in a public, private, or educational setting.
Training Requirements:
Candidates must be comfortable completing Safety Care training. This includes a three‑day program covering de‑escalation techniques and physical management skills, including practicing holds and restraints. Training is provided by the organization.
Paraprofessional Role Overview:
The paraprofessional position supports classroom instruction by assisting with supervision, care, and instruction of students with special needs in both general education and self‑contained settings. Responsibilities include implementing instructional plans, monitoring behavior, and providing information to school staff. Attendance at IEP meetings may be required.

Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma
- Experience in a middle or high school setting
- Experience working with children
- Experience with behavioral needs (preferred)
- Flexibility, reliability, and strong communication skills
- Ability to follow teacher direction and use sound judgment
- Ability to build rapport with students and maintain positive relationships with staff
- Reliable transportation (car preferred)

- Follow organizational policies and administrative directives
- Maintain professionalism and ethical conduct
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, counselors, and support staff
- Assist with behavior intervention plans and social‑skills development
- Provide academic support under teacher guidance
- Modify materials and assist with one‑on‑one or small‑group instruction
- Collect and report data on student performance and behavior
- Support activities of daily living, including meals and bathroom routines
- Assist with crisis intervention following established protocols
- Demonstrate cultural competence and respect for diverse backgrounds
- Maintain confidentiality in accordance with FERPA and applicable laws
- Help maintain a clean, organized learning environment
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support program operations
Preferred Clearances and Documentation
- PA Child Abuse Clearance (within 2 years)
- FBI Fingerprints (within 2 years)
- PA Criminal History Check (within 2 years)
- TB Test (within 3 months; required within 30 days of start)
- Physical or work authorization documentation (within 1 year; required within 30 days of start)
- Mandated Reporter Training Certificate
- CPR/First Aid
