Job Type: Part-Time

Schedule:
Approximately 16-18 hours per week, preferably Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Meetings may begin as early as 7:30 a.m., with end-of-day IEP meetings concluding no later than 3:30 p.m. Start times vary between 7:30 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. depending on the daily schedule.

About the Role

We are seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment services for a K-12 student caseload within a single school building. In accordance with physician's orders and all State, Federal, and Professional laws and regulations, you will develop and implement individualized plans of care to restore and maintain students' highest level of function. This role involves collaboration with an interdisciplinary team, managing documentation and billing, and supervising occupational therapy assistants and aides.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Evaluation & Treatment: Complete comprehensive patient evaluations as ordered under the direction of a physician and develop/implement individualized plans of care to meet patient's and family's goals.
  • Therapeutic Procedures: Utilize selected occupational therapy procedures, including physical agents, therapeutic exercise, and Activities of Daily Living (ADL) functional training, to maximize patient function.
  • Documentation & Billing: Complete comprehensive documentation and all billing requirements for services as required by each payor source and facility policies.
  • Collaboration & Communication: Communicate with interdisciplinary team members, consult with physicians, and participate in appropriate discharge planning, including family education and training.
  • Supervision: Provide direction and supervision to Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants and Rehabilitation Techs/Aides in the provision of services, adhering to State Practice Acts and internal policies.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure the physical surroundings and equipment are sanitary, orderly, and free from safety hazards.
  • Caseload Management: Manage a K-12 caseload of approximately 30 students, including some who receive consultative services only. No travel is required as the entire district is housed under one roof.


Minimum Qualifications
  • Graduation from an AOTA accredited Occupational Therapy program.
  • Current active license in the state(s) of practice (Pennsylvania Occupational Therapy License).
  • Current NBCOT certification.
  • One year of experience as a practicing therapist in the healthcare field is strongly preferred.

Candidates must have or be able to obtain the following documentation (a 30-day grace period may be granted for the Health Record):
  • Act 34: PA State Police Criminal History Record Check
  • Act 151: PA Child Abuse History Clearance
  • Act 114: FBI Federal Criminal History Clearance (Use service code 1KG6XN)
  • Arrest Conviction Report and Certification Form (under Act 24 of 2011 and Act 82 of 2012)
  • School Personnel Health Record (Physical within 1 year/TB test within 3 months)
  • Professional liability insurance certificate
