Job Overview

We are currently seeking a dedicated One-on-One Support Assistant to work with a 9th grade female student. This student requires support throughout the school day for academic tasks and assistance navigating the building to ensure timely arrival at scheduled classes and activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide individualized academic and behavioral support as directed by the student's case manager.
• Assist with daily routines including feeding, toileting, positioning, and monitoring health conditions for students with disabilities.
• Support development in cognitive, motor, self-help, and social skills.
• Maintain student safety by being aware of environmental hazards and physical needs.
• Assist with personal hygiene tasks such as handwashing, toileting, and changing clothing.
• Monitor and manage student behavior in accordance with school guidelines and behavior support plans.
• Collaborate with teachers, case managers, and specialists to implement effective educational programs.
• Support physical development activities and assist with orthopedic equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and interventions.
• Facilitate social interactions and promote inclusion in mainstream classes.
• Attend required training sessions related to medical and instructional procedures.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
• Experience working with children, students, or in caregiving roles (required).
• Preferred experience in:
  
  • Autism Support
  • Special Education
  • Behavioral or Mental Health Services
• Must obtain First Aid and CPR certification prior to start date.
• Must have reliable transportation and access to a personal vehicle.

Credentialing Requirements (Must be completed within 12 months)

• Pennsylvania Child Abuse Clearance
• Pennsylvania Criminal Background Check
• Pennsylvania FBI Fingerprint Clearance
• TB Test Results
• Diploma or official transcripts of highest education level
