Our client is seeking a Systems Engineer 3 to join a critical missile defense program supporting the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) element of the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS). This individual will contribute to the assessment and analysis of system performance and integration for national defense programs. The role is onsite in either Colorado Springs, CO or Huntsville, AL.

- Collaborate with partner organizations to develop and execute comprehensive assessment programs supporting the C2BMC component of the BMDS
- Evaluate systems under varying operational scenarios and architectures to assess and optimize overall system mission performance
- Conduct systems-of-systems analysis and architecture optimization
- Develop, maintain, and enhance analysis tools including models and simulations for threat evaluation and system performance predictions
- Support planning, implementation, and monitoring of systems engineering processes including requirements management, risk assessment, and technology readiness
- Execute and document integration and checkout activities; validate results and ensure compliance with system requirements
- Provide subject matter expertise across integration, test, and performance domains
- Drive resolution of complex missile defense engineering problems
- Utilize Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools such as Cameo, DOORS, and System Architect to support trade studies and architectural development
- Support the development of requirements and architecture for Missile Defense Systems (MDS)
- Lead or contribute to integration and test approaches, process development, and metric definition
- Perform and document system analysis trade studies to support technical solution development
- Identify and implement process improvements and tool enhancements to support team productivity
- This position may require access to Missile Defense Agency (MDA) facilities, requiring successful background investigations
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or Chemistry
- Current U.S. Government Secret Clearance is required
- Minimum of 1 year of systems engineering experience (e.g., requirements, design, architecture, integration, or test)
- Strong analytical, organizational, and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Ability to obtain or currently hold a Top Secret Clearance
- Familiarity with DoD and missile defense systems, including C2BMC architectures and battle management operations
- Experience in requirements verification and validation processes
- Understanding of Agile and iterative development methodologies
- Experience developing assessment plans, objectives, and supporting documentation
- Exposure to scripting and automation for test environments is a plus
- Experience with technical environments such as MATLAB, Python, Java, or similar for modeling and simulation
- Background in performance analysis, concept trade studies, feasibility analysis, and system-level evaluation
- Experience modeling or simulating missile defense systems, including intercept scenarios or space-based defense operations
- Prior exposure to Missile Defense Agency (MDA) environments and inter-agency collaboration is advantageous
