Position Overview:
We are seeking a compassionate, adaptable, and dedicated Special Education Teachers to support aspecial education program. This role involves providing consistent instructional coverage across classrooms serving students with diverse learning needs, including emotional, behavioral, cognitive, and physical challenges. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment that promotes academic growth and personal development.
Hours: 8am-3:30pm with 30 min unpaid lunch break, planning time is 30 minutes before and after school
Age Group: K-12 (may go up to 21)

Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality instruction aligned with IEP goals and curriculum standards in the absence of the regular classroom teacher
- Collaborate with special education staff, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to ensure continuity of support
- Implement behavior management strategies and differentiated instruction to meet individual student needs
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and classroom activities
- Support students in both academic and functional life skills settings
- Uphold school policies and procedures while promoting a safe and respectful classroom culture
- Participate in professional development and team meetings as needed
- Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution
- Teaching certification (PDE Type 06 Permit (day-to-day sub) or ideally a PDE Type 04 Permit (LTS))
- Prior teaching experience, especially in special education or inclusive settings, preferred
- Strong understanding of IEPs, accommodations, and modifications
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills
- Ability to adapt quickly and maintain flexibility in a dynamic school environment
- Clearances (not needed to sub):
- CPR/First Aid Certification (must include hands-on component; valid within 2 years)
- TB Test (within 3 months)
- Mandated Reporter Training (within 5 years)
- PA Child Abuse Clearance (within 12 months)
- PA Criminal History Check (within 12 months)
- FBI Fingerprints/Background Check (within 12 months)
- Act 82 Arrest/Conviction Report and Certification Form
- Completed Act 168 Form
