Schedule:
- Elementary Schools: 8:45 AM - 3:45 PM
- Secondary Schools (Middle/High): 7:45 AM - 2:45 PM
- Includes a 30-minute unpaid lunch break
Job Summary
Seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) to support students with academic, behavioral, and physical needs. PCAs work closely with teachers, case managers, and specialists to implement individualized education plans and promote inclusive learning environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized instruction in areas such as motor skills, self-help, and behavior regulation
- Support students with disabilities in daily activities including feeding, toileting, hygiene, and mobility
- Monitor and reinforce positive behavior strategies
- Assist with physical development activities and transitions to mainstream classrooms
- Maintain accurate records of student progress and health-related interventions
- Collaborate with educators, therapists, and support staff to meet student goals
- Attend required training sessions and professional development
- Safely assist students using orthopedic equipment and mobility aids
- Promote social interaction and independence among students
Qualifications
Education & Experience:
- High school diploma
- Experience working with children or individuals with disabilities preferred
Required Clearances (must be current within 1 year):
- PA Child Abuse Clearance (Act 151)
- PA Criminal Background Check (Act 34)
- PA Department of Education FBI Fingerprint Clearance
- Arrest/Conviction Report and Certification Form
- TB Screening (within 3 months)
- Proof of Education: Diploma or Official Transcripts
Skills:
- Knowledge of First Aid and CPR
- Basic record-keeping and documentation
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
