Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and implementation of IEPs in accordance with federal, state, and local guidelines
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with special needs
- Collaborate with special education teachers, therapists, and school staff
- Support behavior intervention plans and help manage student behavior
- Monitor and document student progress and daily activities
- Facilitate IEP meetings and contribute to problem-solving teams
- Use technology and multimedia tools to enhance learning
- Promote critical thinking, collaboration, and independence among students
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized learning environment
- Communicate professionally with students, families, and colleagues
- Participate in professional development and school learning communities
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Associate's degree (preferred)
- Experience working with children, preferably in an educational setting
- Knowledge of special education practices and willingness to learn new strategies
- Proficiency in multimedia and computer technology
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- Ability to build collaborative relationships with students, staff, and families
