The ideal candidate will have experience working with students who exhibit challenging behaviors and is committed to fostering a safe and positive learning space.
Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one instruction to students in a variety of areas, including cognitive skills, motor skills, self-help, and behavior management.
- Assist students with personal hygiene needs, such as toileting, washing, and changing clothes.
- Monitor and control student behavior according to established guidelines, implementing positive behavior intervention support policies.
- Help maintain the health and safety of students, being aware of potential environmental hazards.
- Assist with the use of braces and other orthopedic equipment to lift, position, and reposition students as needed.
- Collaborate with teachers, caseworkers, and other staff to support student progress.
- Assist students with social interactions and prepare them for mainstreamed classes.
- Maintain accurate records related to student progress.
- Attend required training and in-services related to medical interventions and instructional programs.
Qualifications:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience: Must have experience working with children, students, or in a general caregiving role. Experience with Autistic Support, Special Education, or Behavioral Health/Mental Health is preferred.
- Certifications: Must obtain a First Aid Certificate, including CPR certification, before the start date.

- PA Child Abuse Clearance
- PA Criminal Clearance
- PA FBI Fingerprint
- TB Test Results
- Diploma or transcripts of highest education
