Position Overview:
Edgesource is seeking a highly skilled DevOps Engineer in support of our government Sponsor. This position requires that all job duties be performed full-time onsite at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling in Washington, DC.


Job Duties:

  • Providing direct support to engineering platforms and microservices used to develop critical applications to modernize how data is leveraged across multiple DoD customers.
  • Developing infrastructure, task automation, provision managed services, and leveraging Python, Ansible, and Terraform programming languages.
  • Patching, hardening, and maintaining compliance of RHEL
  • Install, configure, and provide performance support for Kubernetes, Docker, Nifi, and cloud metrics collection tools.
  • Managing CI/CD pipelines to automate building, testing, and deploying code utilizing GitLab.
  • Managing commercial cloud computing platforms (AWS).
  • Communicate and collaborate effectively with other team members, as well as with stakeholders.
  • Work with product owners to translate requirements into technical designs.
  • Develop strategies and approaches, to accomplish customer and program timelines and objectives.
  • Design, develop, and deploy solutions for cloud-based applications using an Agile development framework.
  • Ensure seamless integration between front end and back-end components.
  • Implement best practices for securing web applications and safeguarding data.
  • Be a part of a software development team that will enable you to learn and contribute to the successful deployment of mission critical applications.


Required Qualifications:

  • Active TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance
  • 9+ years of experience in Software or Systems Engineering/Administration of related work experience and a high school diploma, 5+ years and a Bachelor's degree, or 3+ years and a Master's degree
  • Strong PaaS experience
  • Experience configuring and managing LINUX operating systems.
  • Experience investigating and resolving technical issues.
  • Active Security+ certification or other 8570 Compliant certifications.
  • Experience with Automated infrastructure provisioning and CI/CD pipelines using Terraform, Ansible, Jenkins, and GitLab CI.
  • Experience designing and implementing scalable, fault-tolerant solutions using AWS services including EC2, ECS/EKS, S3, RDS, and CloudFormation.
  • Experience deploying and managing containerized applications in Kubernetes clusters using Helm, Kustomize, and custom manifests.


Desired Qualifications (NOT REQUIRED):

  • Experience working in an Agile software development environment.
  • Experience using with Jira and Confluence.
  • Experience with DevOps pipeline and optimizing code.
  • Knowledge of scripting languages such as Ruby, Python, and/or Bash
  • Knowledge of Docker or other container tools.
