Position Overview:
Edgesource is seeking a highly skilled Appian SME who will be responsible for gathering, analyzing, and defining requirements to determine the most effective software and web technologies to satisfy client needs. The person in this role will develop, maintain, support, and enhance complex software systems based on documented requirements, providing specific input to system design, and adhering to formal design processes and guidelines. You'll design and develop user-friendly interfaces, maintain technical documentation, and ensure quality control of software. You will select development processes, recommend new technologies, and troubleshooting complex software problems. You'll also integrate new products with existing applications to improve system functionality and design. This position requires that all job duties be performed full-time onsite at Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling in Washington, DC.

Job Duties:
- Work with product owners to translate requirements into technical designs.
- Operate in a hybrid work environment where you will develop strategies and approaches, to accomplish customer and program timelines and objectives.
- Design, develop, and deploy solutions for cloud-based applications using an Agile development framework.
- Ensure seamless integration between front end and back-end components.
- Implement best practices for securing web applications and safeguarding data.
- Be a part of a software development team that will enable you to learn and contribute to the successful deployment of mission critical applications.
Required Qualifications:
- Active TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance
- 5+ years of professional experience with a Bachelor's degree, 3+ years of professional experience with a Master's degree, or 10+ years of professional experience with a high school diploma
- Ability to complete development work on the high-side Linux environment
- Java experience (any level of experience)
- Python experience (any level of experience)
- Backend Database Experience with either MongoDB or Postgres
- Appian Experience (At least 2 years of experience designing, developing or supporting Appian or Appian-based applications)
Desired Qualifications (NOT REQUIRED):
- Skilled in communications with government customers on issues'
- Cloud experience
- Familiar with DIA engineering environment
- Ability to capture user issues and feedback
- Ability to create sustainable processes
- FIDOS-X experience
- Skilled in engineering efforts (using Appian) of core processes for a federal government agency
