Location: Onsite (IC Customer Location)
Clearance Requirement: TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph (Polygraph must be current within the last 7 years - no earlier than 2021)

Overview

SCDIT is seeking a skilled DevOps Lead Engineer to join our high-impact team supporting a large Intelligence Community (IC) agency as they migrate and modernize their infrastructure into AWS. This is a senior-level leadership role requiring hands-on experience with modern DevOps technologies and methodologies, particularly Kubernetes, Terraform, and AWS.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of DevOps pipelines and deployment processes.
• Automate and manage infrastructure using Terraform, AWS, and containerization platforms.
• Champion CI/CD best practices using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.
• Collaborate across multiple teams to support the migration of systems to AWS.
• Promote DevOps culture and modern software delivery practices across engineering teams.
• Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and oversight to a team of DevOps and software engineers.
• Ensure systems are secure, scalable, and aligned with customer and compliance requirements.
• Use Agile methodologies to drive iterative improvements and fast feedback loops.

Required Qualifications

• 20+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer, Software Engineer, or similar technical role.
• Proven experience planning, leading, and delivering large-scale DevOps projects.
• Strong leadership in technical teams, including experience mentoring and setting DevOps strategies.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software/Systems Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
  (An additional 5 years of relevant experience may be substituted for a degree)
• Deep hands-on experience with:
  
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS): S3, EC2, ECS/EKS, VPC, Networking
  • Infrastructure as Code: Terraform (preferred), CloudFormation
  • Containerization & Orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes, container registries
  • CI/CD tools: Jenkins, GitHub Actions
  • Scripting: Python, Bash, Ruby
• Proficient in Linux-based systems and automation workflows
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• CWIP IAT Level I certification (required)

Preferred / Bonus Skills

• Kubernetes architecture and production deployment expertise
• Advanced Terraform usage for secure, modular infrastructure provisioning
• Experience supporting the Intelligence Community or DoD customers
• Self-starter with a passion for innovation and continuous improvement

Security Clearance

• Active TS/SCI with Full Scope Polygraph
• Polygraph must be current within the past 7 years (i.e., no earlier than 2021)
