Seeking a career and customer-oriented Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) Engineer to join our team in Suitland, MD.
The GIS Engineer shall serve as the ESRI Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the Operations Branch and directly participates in the design, engineering, implementation, and modifications to the production GIS environment.

Overview
Seeking a career and customer-oriented Geospatial Information Systems (GIS) Engineer to join our team in Suitland, MD.
The GIS Engineer shall serve as the ESRI Subject Matter Expert (SME) within the Operations Branch and directly participates in the design, engineering, implementation, and modifications to the production GIS environment.
- Evaluate existing data and processes to support development of plans to migrate to server GIS architecture
- Configure and maintain the ArcGIS Enterprise and Geodatabase software
- Manage all of the activity's geospatial-related data; provide technical support and troubleshoot user issues with GIS software and techniques
- Provide desk-side and group training to users on product operations, functionality, and usage
- Administer and maintain all GIS production applications utilized by the activity's Government user base
Qualifications
- 4+ years of experience in GIS analysis
- Advanced knowledge of Esri ArcGIS software, including ArcGIS Server/Desktop, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Enterprise
- Experience implementing, supporting, and training enterprise-level GIS applications
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with proficiency in GIS analysis
- 4+ years of experience supporting, managing, and deploying multiuser web-based GIS applications
- Knowledge of developing web-based portals for clients to access GIS data
- Proficient in Python for developing GIS applications within the Esri ArcGIS environment
- Meets minimum credential requirements for Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce positions as defined in Section 6, Table 3
- CompTIA Security+ CE certification
Nice to Have
- Certified GIS Professional (GISP)
- ESRI Enterprise Administration Professional (EAEP)
- ESRI Enterprise Geodata Management Professional (EGMP)
- Bachelor's degree in GIS, Computer Science, Engineering, or another related field
- Experience building and maintaining spatial geodatabases in enterprise GIS deployments
- Ability to provide technical support and troubleshoot user issues using log files and web debugging tools
