Compensation:
  • ~$160K (8-10 years experience)
  • ~$180K (10-15 years experience)
Overview:

Come support a major program advancing the state of the art in mission-focused big data and predictive analytics. You will deliver cutting-edge data science capabilities to advance national security objectives, swiftly produce and analyze results, disseminate findings, and contribute to publications and presentations with actionable intelligence insights.

While most work is conducted on-site at our client location in Bethesda, MD, we offer a flexible schedule. Occasionally, some tasks may be performed remotely. The percentage of remote work will vary based on client requirements and deliverables.
Fun Stuff You Will Do:
  • Work closely with a tight-knit team of data scientists, software developers, network engineers, investigators, program managers, researchers, and analysts.
  • Design, build, and optimize a Data Science platform for analysis, dissemination, and reporting.
  • Analyze a variety of big data in areas like national security, cybersecurity, business intelligence, online social media, and human behavior.
  • Manage multiple simultaneous projects with open-ended guidance, delivering mission-relevant discoveries to non-technical audiences.
  • Identify novel data sources, improve predictive algorithms, and encourage adoption of advanced analytics platforms.
  • Apply skills in research design, exploratory analysis, quantitative methods, UI/UX design, and customer engagement.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's in a quantitative field (Computer Science, Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, Computational Social Science)
    OR
    Master's/advanced graduate degree or certificate-based training in the same fields
  • 8+ years of experience in data science, analytics, or quantitative intelligence analysis
    (6+ years with a Master's degree)
  • Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain/maintain a Polygraph
  • Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or R
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams on research and platform development
  • Background in data science or research in analytics/big data
  • Demonstrated creative problem solving and active learning
  • Ability to assess software/data requirements and recommend effective solutions
  • Familiarity with version control tools (Git, SVN, JIRA, etc.)
Bonus Skills That Will Wow Us:
  • Direct support to military or intelligence community customers
  • Experience with at least two data classes:
    • Open Source/Publicly Available Information (PAI)
    • Forensic Media (DOMEX)
    • MASINT
    • Cybersecurity/Cyber Forensics
  • Proficiency with SQL, Elasticsearch, or Kibana
  • Deployment experience using Docker, Kubernetes, or OpenShift
  • Experience with Knowledge Graphs (e.g., Neo4j, Graph ML)
  • Expertise in developing:
    • Predictive algorithms
    • Image classifiers
    • Object detectors
  • Knowledge of:
    • Social network analysis
    • Supply chain analysis
    • Forensic accounting
    • Pattern-of-life modeling
    • NLP
    • Classification algorithms
    • Image processing
  • Familiarity with COTS/GOTS/OS tools in unconventional settings
  • Experience with:
    • Virtualization & distributed systems (e.g., Hadoop)
    • AWS/C2S
    • Hardware platforms (CPUs, GPUs, FPGAs)
    • Applications involving Large Language Models or Agentic AI
    • Kubernetes for deployment/management
