You'll join a small, senior agile pod building real-time command-and-control and sensor-fusion micro-services for a next-generation missile-defense system that protects U.S. and allied forces. Your focus is low-latency Java 17 services that ingest multi-domain sensor feeds and deliver fire-control quality tracks to Patriot, Aegis, THAAD, and GBSD interceptors.

- Design, code, and unit-test Java 17 / Spring Boot algorithms that merge radar, EO/IR, and satellite data in < 5 ms.
- Own the full SDLC: requirements, architecture, implementation, CI/CD, integration, and field test support.
- Containerize services (Podman, OCI) and deploy on hardened RHEL nodes through air-gapped Jenkins pipelines.
- Tune JVM GC, thread pools, and network I/O to meet deterministic real-time performance.
- Collaborate with systems, cyber, and test engineers in 2-week sprints; provide technical mentorship to mid-level developers.
- Generate RMF evidence, remediate STIG & Nessus findings, and support accreditation reviews.
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor's in CS, EE, Math, or related field.
- 8 + years modern Java development (multithreading, performance tuning).
- Spring Boot REST services and containerized deployment on Linux.
- Experience in classified or DoD C2, avionics, or real-time sensor-processing domains.
- Active TS clearance with SCI eligibility; ability to work 100 % on-site.
Preferred qualifications
- Master's degree and 10 + years in missile-defense, radar, or sensor-fusion programs.
- Kalman filtering, IMM, or similar tracking algorithms.
- Jenkins, Git/Bitbucket, JUnit 5, Cucumber, SonarQube, Artifactory.
- Hands-on with MIL-STD-1553, Netty UDP multicast, or high-rate TCP interfaces.
- Familiarity with Ansible IaC and SBOM/Software-supply-chain best practices.
