Our client is seeking a dedicated Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to support students within the special education program.. This role requires candidates who are reliable, consistent, and passionate about working with students.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide 1-on-1 behavioral and academic support to students.
- Assist in implementing effective educational programs as directed by the case manager.
- Support students with special needs, including feeding, toileting, positioning, and health condition monitoring.
- Help maintain a safe learning environment for students with physical disabilities.
- Aid in developing motor skills, self-help abilities, and behavioral management.
- Assist students with personal hygiene, including handwashing, toileting, and clothing changes.
- Implement positive behavior interventions and monitor student behavior per guidelines.
- Prepare students for inclusion in general education classes.
- Attend specialized training sessions related to medical care and instructional support.
- Assist students with braces and orthopedic equipment and reposition them as needed.
- Keep accurate records of student progress.
- Collaborate with case workers, general education teachers, and other staff.
- Support students in social interactions, fostering independence and teamwork.
- Perform other duties related to student support as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent (required).
- Experience working with children, students, or in caregiving roles.
- Preferred: Background in Autistic Support, Special Education, Behavioral Health, or Mental Health.
- Certification in First Aid & CPR (must be obtained before start date).
- PA Child Abuse Clearance
- PA Criminal Clearance
- PA FBI Fingerprint
- TB Test Results
- Diploma or Transcripts of highest education
