Advanced Manufacturing Analyst
Location: Dayton, OH
Salary: $110,000 – $290,000 DOE

About the Role
We are seeking a highly-skilled Advanced Manufacturing Analyst to support the NOVASTAR 3IAS Analysis Support program at the United States Air Force’s premier technical intelligence center. This position will play a key role in analyzing emerging advanced manufacturing technologies, processes, and materials that support cutting-edge defense and intelligence capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
• Research, assess, and report on advanced manufacturing techniques, including additive manufacturing, 3D printing, precision machining, and automation systems as they pertain to national security and defense applications.
• Analyze global commercial and military industrial capacity, including supply chains, production scalability, and sustainment capabilities.
• Evaluate the impact of new manufacturing techniques on adversary capabilities and potential countermeasures.
• Develop in-depth reports, threat analyses, and briefings to senior leadership that inform decision-making processes.
• Stay current with evolving trends in materials science, manufacturing technologies, and industrial engineering.
• Support interdisciplinary teams by integrating advanced manufacturing data into broader threat assessments and analyses.
• Conduct comparative analyses of advanced manufacturing capabilities among near-peer and peer competitors.
• Assist with the development of new data models and analytic tools for advanced manufacturing research.
Basic Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience in advanced manufacturing, engineering design, or technology analysis.
• Active DoD TS/SCI clearance.
• DoD 8570 Level II Certification (e.g. Security+ CE) or ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
• Relevant computing environment certification (e.g. Azure, AWS, or equivalent) or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire.
Desired Skills
• Familiarity with additive manufacturing, composites, automation, and robotics.
• Understanding of global supply chains and commercial/military manufacturing networks.
• Strong analytical skills with experience analyzing technical data and producing actionable intelligence.
• Experience supporting intelligence community or DoD missions.
• Strong writing, briefing, and communication skills.
