About the Role
We are looking for a talented Telecommunications for Space Analysis Support expert to support the NOVASTAR 3IAS program at Wright-Patterson AFB. In this role, you will apply your deep knowledge of satellite communication (SATCOM) technologies, space-based networking, and RF engineering principles to enhance the U.S. Air Force’s intelligence and communication capabilities in contested and evolving environments.
Key Responsibilities
• Conduct detailed analysis of satellite and terrestrial telecommunications architectures supporting U.S. military and intelligence operations.
• Assess the interoperability, reliability, and security of space-based and ground-based communication systems.
• Develop requirements and provide technical guidance on modernization and future-proofing of space communication networks.
• Research, evaluate, and recommend commercial and government telecommunications technologies for integration into DoD space operations.
• Support engineering teams with data link analyses, vulnerability assessments, and performance optimization of communication systems.
• Prepare technical reports and brief senior leadership on telecommunications strategy, findings, and recommendations.
Basic Qualifications
• Active TS/SCI security clearance at the time of application.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, telecommunications, computer science, or a related field.
• 6+ years of telecommunications, RF engineering, or satellite communications experience.
• Familiarity with DoD 8570 certification requirements or the ability to obtain within 3 months of hire.
• Familiarity with space architectures, communication protocols, and spectrum management.
Desired Skills
• Experience working on DoD or intelligence community telecommunications or space communications programs.
• Familiarity with commercial SATCOM services, space-ground link budgets, and encryption standards.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
• Ability to present findings clearly to both technical and executive audiences.
