Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Space-Based ISR Analyst to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the IRES/NOVASTAR contract. The successful candidate will leverage expertise in all-source, scientific, and technical intelligence (S&TI) to assess adversary space-based ISR capabilities, performance, and vulnerabilities.
Your analyses will directly contribute to national defense strategies and inform decision-making processes at the USAF’s premier technical intelligence center.
Key Responsibilities
Perform in-depth all-source scientific and technical intelligence analysis against adversary ISR spacecraft.
Conduct information discovery to evaluate the performance, characteristics, and vulnerabilities of adversary signals intelligence spacecraft.
Analyze all spacecraft domains to assess:
General Spacecraft: orbital parameters; satellite configuration; mass properties; power generation and storage; communication methods; onboard data processing/storage; sensor duty cycles; interactions with other spacecraft; and associated enabling infrastructure.
SIGINT Spacecraft: antenna configuration, frequency range, polarization, sensitivity, beamforming capabilities, geolocation accuracy, fields of view/regard.
Optical Remote Sensing Spacecraft: sensor design/construction; sensed wavelengths; pointing accuracy; field of view/regard.
SAR Spacecraft: radio-frequency parameters; modulation, power, pattern, polarization; beamforming capabilities; operating modes; frequency bands; fields of view/regard.
Support proposal writing with detailed, compliant responses tailored to RFP requirements.
Develop technical reports, data summaries, and presentations for stakeholders.
Collaborate with teammates, analysts, and mission partners to identify solutions and enhance analysis processes.
Maintain documentation and contribute to policy/procedure development.
Participate in ongoing training and professional development initiatives.
Basic Qualifications
Active DoD Secret or higher (TS/SCI preferred).
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM field, or equivalent experience.
6+ years of all-source intelligence analysis, including S&TI, technical collection capabilities, or related disciplines.
Experience with SIGINT, optical, SAR, or other space-based ISR assets and systems.
Familiarity with orbital mechanics, remote sensing technologies, and geolocation techniques.
DoD 8570-compliant certification (e.g., Security+ CE) or ability to obtain within 3 months.
Strong writing, research, and briefing skills.
Desired Qualifications
Familiarity with MDA or USAF ISR programs and operations.
Familiarity with tools for S&TI reporting and data visualization.
Experience supporting intelligence teams at COCOMs or similar agencies.
Commitment to continuous learning and technical excellence.
