JOB SUMMARY:  MCSG Technologies is seeking an Operations Planner - Space Command and Control (C2) subject matter expert (SME) to support the 392d Combat Training Squadron’s (392 CTS) USSF Exercise Team at Schriever SFB, CO.  The team supports the 392 CTS-led USSF exercises (e.g., SPACE FLAG (SF), POLARIS HAMMER, Flashpoint, and SKIES series).  These exercises are designed to prepare Guardians to execute operations in a realistic contested, degraded, and operationally limited (CDO) environment against a thinking and determined adversary.  This Operations Planner position provides C2 subject matter expertise and coordinates with internal and external C2 stakeholders to design, develop, plan, execute, and assess 392 CTS-led USSF exercises, Flashpoint events, and mission-focused events.  Location: This position is at Schriever SFB, CO, and requires on-site support.



PRIMARY DUTIES:

Serves as the USSF Exercise team’s interface with Space C2 centers and their subordinate units.
Gathers information, establishes liaisons, and coordinates with key internal and external USSF exercise stakeholders to develop exercise C2 guidance and products.
Works with USSF exercise planners to develop C2 exercise scenario timing, effects, anticipated player actions, etc.
Coordinates manning and support requirements with USSF exercise team subject matter experts and representatives from S4S, CSpOC, NSDC, and their associated units.
Identifies gaps and shortfalls in M&S tools needed to provide realistic exercise environments.
Assists with USSF exercise planning conferences, coordination meetings, training events, etc.
Participates as part of the USSF service-level exercise White Cell and Exercise Control Group.
Captures, analyzes, and reports observations and lessons learned identified during the design, planning, and execution of USSF exercises, Flashpoint events, and mission-focused events.
Supports hot wash debriefs and after-action report development after each USSF service-level exercise, Flashpoint event, or S4S-related mission-focused event.
Prepares event-related documents (i.e., trip reports, exercise planning/execution products, after-action reports, lessons learned, meeting minutes) within contractual time frames.
Carries out tasks as directed by contract leadership required to ensure 392 CTS mission success.


REQUIREMENTS:

10-15 years’ operational space experience
Current or previous experience (within the last 5 years) working in S4S, NSDC and/or CSpOC conducting operational-level planning.
Experience with joint strategic or operational planning and tasking processes at either CCMD or Service Component level
This position requires limited travel (approx.. 6-8 weeks/year)


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

USAF Weapons School graduate
Experience in planning, developing, coordinating, and executing United States Space Force (USSF) space capabilities in Service, Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS), and Combatant Command (CCMD) operations or exercises.


RELEVANT EXPERIENCE: 10-15 years’ operational space experience. 5-7 years of Command and Control experience.



EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree from an accredited academic institution. 


SECURITY CLEARANCE: Top Secret/SCI with Special Access Program (SAP) eligibility.
