We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our classified hardware development team for a 12-18 month contract. The ideal candidate will lead mechanical and thermal design efforts for a cutting-edge network security appliance.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design and validate thermal solutions for high-performance computing hardware
• Develop mechanical layouts for chassis and PCB integration
• Conduct thermal simulations and analyze results
• Collaborate with electrical and FPGA engineers in a classified environment
• Support TEMPEST compliance efforts through mechanical design
• Oversee prototype development and testing
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
• 7+ years experience in thermal design for high-performance computing
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA)
• Experience with thermal simulation tools (e.g., ANSYS, FloTHERM)
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in classified environments
• Current TS//SCI clearance minimal but can hold anything higher
Desired Skills:
• Experience with FPGA-based systems
• Experience implementing cooling solutions for lidless packages
• Familiarity with datacenter appliances and racks
The pay range for this position is a general guideline only and not a guarantee of compensation or salary.
