The Engineer III will design, develop, and maintain advanced control systems for maritime and industrial platforms, collaborating with cross‑functional teams to implement system logic, troubleshoot hardware/software interfaces, and support machinery control solutions from concept through deployment.

Responsibilities
- Develop control system logic using Rockwell Structured Text for specialized equipment
- Perform software builds and releases via the PIMCS framework
- Troubleshoot hardware/software interfaces for National Instruments products
- Implement and maintain signal wiring configurations for Rockwell PLC systems
- Analyze and interpret electrical schematics to support system integration and maintenance
- Diagnose and remediate network‑based system issues
- Produce detailed test documentation, including procedures, results, and findings
- Support machinery control systems (e.g., LHD 8, LHA 6/7, CG47 MCS, Aegis Ashore) in both in‑service and acquisition contexts
- Configure and maintain VME/VPX‑based control hardware for electric plant and machinery systems
- Collaborate using Confluence, JIRA, and Bitbucket to manage project artifacts and version control
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science from an ABET‑accredited program
- 2+ years of professional engineering experience
- 1+ year developing Rockwell Structured Text logic for LPD 17‑class vessels
- 1+ year performing software builds with the PIMCS framework
- 1+ year troubleshooting National Instruments hardware/software interfaces
- 1+ year configuring and testing Rockwell PLC signal wiring
- 1+ year of Python programming experience
- 1+ year diagnosing network‑based systems
- 1+ year reading and interpreting electrical schematics
- 1+ year authoring detailed technical test documentation
Preferred qualifications
- Experience with machinery control systems (LHD 8, LHA 6/7, CG47 MCS, Aegis Ashore)
- Familiarity with VME (VITA 46) or VPX control architectures
- Active Secret security clearance
- Proficiency with Agile collaboration tools (Confluence, JIRA, Bitbucket)
