The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in systems engineering with a strong focus on interface engineering, requirements engineering, and MBSE modeling. The role requires expertise in message formatting, network specifications, and security compliance, along with advanced modeling skills to support system architecture development.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define and implement message processing rules for system interfaces.
- Develop message formatting protocols (e.g., XML, VMF).
- Design and manage network specifications and models, including the ISO OSI model.
- Establish physical/network topologies, devices, and protocols (TCP/IP, UDP, etc.).
- Apply requirements engineering methodologies, leveraging tools like IBM Rational DOORS.
- Conduct use case development and logical architecture modeling.
- Perform MBSE modeling, including behavioral and structural modeling techniques.
- Support SysML modeling and BMDS domain expertise to ensure system efficiency.
- Apply RMF-based cybersecurity principles for compliance and risk management.
- Implement project planning techniques, including Earned Value Management (EVM).
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Math, Science, Engineering, or Software Engineering.
- Extensive experience in systems engineering, specifically in interface engineering.
- Proficiency in network design, security protocols, and requirements documentation.
- Expertise in IBM Rational DOORS for requirements management.
- Strong understanding of MBSE modeling techniques, including SysML.
- Ability to work with structured and behavioral modeling tools for system architecture.
- Security clearance at Secret level required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in an Engineering Discipline.
- Prior experience in the BMDS domain.
- Knowledge of RMF-based cybersecurity practices.
- Familiarity with Earned Value Management techniques for project planning.
