I’m supporting a program seeking a TS/SCI-cleared Systems Engineer to support advanced combat systems analysis and campaign-level modeling for the Department of Defense. This role supports mission-critical analysis used to inform future combat capability and acquisition decisions. This position sits at the intersection of systems engineering, operational analysis, and modeling & simulation, evaluating how different force structures and operational strategies perform in large-scale theater campaigns. Location: Charlottesville, VA Clearance: TS/SCI Required Schedule: Fully onsite Employment: Contract-to-Hire What you’ll be doing: • Analyze combat weapon system performance using advanced modeling and simulation tools • Conduct theater-level operational analysis supporting DoD mission planning and capability development • Evaluate factors such as force package design, order of battle, basing strategy, and multi-domain operations in long-duration campaign scenarios • Use analytical frameworks such as Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling and THUNDER • Develop and run analytical scenarios using scripting and data analysis tools including MATLAB • Interpret simulation results and produce analysis used by DoD leadership to guide modernization and acquisition decisions Basic Qualifications: • 5+ years performing DoD operational analysis or modeling & simulation • Experience using scripting/programming languages for analysis or automation • Knowledge of U.S. and foreign combat systems, including aircraft and air defense systems • Experience supporting theater-level or campaign-level analysis • Active TS/SCI clearance This is a long-term program supporting high-impact defense analysis work.
