Cryptography Subject Matter Expert

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly qualified Cryptography Subject Matter Expert to join our team in Laurel, MD. This position involves providing expert guidance and support on cryptographic systems, algorithms, and protocols to ensure the security and integrity of sensitive information.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement cryptographic solutions to protect sensitive data and communications.
• Provide technical expertise and consultation on cryptographic standards and best practices.
• Conduct security assessments and vulnerability analyses to identify and mitigate risks.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate cryptographic technologies into existing systems.
• Stay current with emerging threats and advancements in cryptography to ensure ongoing security compliance.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cryptography and information security.
• In-depth knowledge of cryptographic algorithms, protocols, and standards (e.g., AES, RSA, ECC, TLS).
• Experience with cryptographic libraries and tools (e.g., OpenSSL, Bouncy Castle).
• Strong understanding of security principles and risk management.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Clearance Requirements:
Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with quantum-resistant cryptography and post-quantum algorithms.
• Knowledge of cryptographic implementations in cloud and distributed systems.
• Familiarity with federal security standards and compliance requirements.
