Cryptography Subject Matter Expert

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly qualified Cryptography Subject Matter Expert to join our team in Laurel, MD. This position involves providing expert guidance and support on cryptographic systems, algorithms, and protocols to ensure the security and integrity of sensitive information.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement cryptographic solutions to protect sensitive data and systems.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance on cryptographic standards and best practices.
• Conduct security assessments and vulnerability analyses related to cryptographic implementations.
• Collaborate with software developers, network engineers, and security teams to integrate cryptographic solutions.
• Stay current with emerging cryptographic technologies and threats.
• Mentor and train junior cryptographic professionals.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cryptography, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cryptography and information security.
• In-depth knowledge of cryptographic algorithms, protocols, and standards (e.g., AES, RSA, ECC, TLS).
• Experience with cryptographic libraries and tools (e.g., OpenSSL, Bouncy Castle).
• Strong understanding of security principles and risk management.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.
• Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master’s degree in Cryptography, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience with quantum-resistant cryptography.
• Knowledge of hardware security modules (HSMs) and secure enclaves.
• Experience working in a defense or intelligence environment.
