Cryptography Subject Matter Expert

Job Description:

We are seeking a highly qualified Cryptography Subject Matter Expert to join our team in Laurel, MD. This position involves providing expert-level cryptographic guidance, developing cryptographic solutions, and ensuring compliance with national security standards.

Responsibilities:

• Provide expert-level cryptographic guidance and support to government and commercial clients
• Develop and implement cryptographic solutions for secure communication and data protection
• Conduct cryptographic vulnerability assessments and risk analyses
• Review and evaluate cryptographic protocols and algorithms
• Provide training and mentorship to junior cryptographic professionals
• Stay current with emerging cryptographic technologies and standards
• Support compliance with NIST, NSA, and other regulatory requirements

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cryptography, or related field (Master’s preferred)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in cryptographic systems and protocols
• In-depth knowledge of symmetric and asymmetric cryptography, hash functions, and digital signatures
• Experience with cryptographic libraries and tools (e.g., OpenSSL, Bouncy Castle)
• Understanding of cryptographic standards (e.g., AES, RSA, ECC, SHA-2, SHA-3)
• Strong mathematical background with proficiency in number theory and algebra
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, security-focused environment

Clearance Requirement:
Active Top Secret/SCI clearance with polygraph required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with quantum-resistant cryptography
• Knowledge of post-quantum cryptographic algorithms
• Experience with cryptographic implementations in embedded systems
• Familiarity with secure key management practices
