Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Principal ScienceLogic SL1 Engineer to design, deploy, configure, and support a large-scale enterprise monitoring environment supporting a mission-critical Department of Defense program.
This individual will serve as a senior technical resource responsible for building and engineering the ScienceLogic SL1 platform from the ground up. The environment includes a centralized SL1 platform hosted within Microsoft Azure, along with distributed SL1 Data Collectors supporting geographically dispersed environments.
This is a true engineering and architecture position, rather than a role focused primarily on monitoring dashboards or responding to alerts. The ideal candidate will have deep hands-on SL1 experience combined with strong infrastructure, networking, Windows/Linux, cloud, and troubleshooting skills.
Minimum Job Requirements include
- Active Secret or Top Secret Clearance
- Security+ Certification or higher
- Bachelors and 12 years of Engineering experience, or No Degree and 16 years of experience.
- Experience with the Design, deploy, configure, and maintain enterprise-scale ScienceLogic SL1 environments.
- Experience engineering SL1 core/database infrastructure and distributed Data Collector architecture.
- Experience deploying and support the centralized SL1 platform within Microsoft Azure, and configure discovery and monitoring of network devices, Windows/Linux servers, virtual infrastructure, applications, and other enterprise technologies.
- Experience with ScienceLogic PowerPacks, Dynamic Applications, Device Classes, etc.
- Experience monitoring policies and thresholds, Events, and Dashboards and reporting
- Experience configure monitoring utilizing protocols including SNMPv3, ICMP, HTTPS/API, SSH, and WMI/WinRM.
Exact Pay will vary based on candidate overall experience, depth on knowledge, education level and certifications amongst many other factors. However, we anticipate paying 140K to 185K for this opening as well as providing a comprehensive benefits package including Health, Vision, Dental, and 401K benefits.
